ABOUT SRILA PRABHUPADA:

Srila PrabhupadaAbhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1 September 1896 – 14 November 1977) was a saint, Gaudiya Vaishnava teacher and the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, commonly known as the “Hare Krishna Movement”. His mission was to propagate Gaudiya Vaishnavism, a form of Hinduism that had been taught to him by his guru, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, throughout the world.Born Abhay Charan De in Kolkata,he was educated at the prestigious local Scottish Church College. Before adopting the life of a pious renunciant (vanaprastha) in 1950, he was married with children and owned a small pharmaceutical business.In 1959 he took a vow of renunciation (sannyasa) and started writing commentaries on Vaishnava scriptures. In his later years, as a traveling Vaishnava monk, he became an influential communicator of Gaudiya Vaishnava theology to India and specifically to the West through his leadership of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), founded in 1966. As the founder of ISKCON, he “emerged as a major figure of the Western counterculture, initiating thousands of young Americans.” Many became his faithful disciples executing the bhakti yoga path and perfecting their lives. Among such great disciples, is Radhanath Swami.

ABOUT RADHANATH SWAMI:

Radhanath SwamiRadhanath swami was born Richard Slavin in America. From an early age he had a calling to seek the truth. In this quest of truth, Richard Slavin set out from his home on a journey which was filled with myriad adventurous experiences and learnings. He was subjected to intense fear, pain, rejections and even love. He finally met his spiritual master in H D G A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. He then finally became a Hare Krishna after going through studies of many religions under various spiritual leaders. His heart was attracted by Prabhupada and Richard Slavin became Radhanath Swami under the care of Prabhupada.

Today, by his inspirational leadership, Bhakti Yoga is being practiced by many and the message of “Bhagavad Gita As It Is” is being spread in many places including Navi mumbai. Radhanath Swami is one amongst many spiritual Leaders in ISKCON and a spiritual master to many.

NitaiGaurdesh is an integration of all the Bhakti Yoga centres in Navi Mumbai under the inspiration of Radhanath Swami and his disciples. These Bhakti Yoga centres includes congregation from Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Panvel, and Airoli.
